In the Cocoon series of paintings and sculptures, figures are caught in a liminal space between presence and absence. They are obscured within protective shells, vertical washes of paint, or the raw textures of hair and fur, materials that veil the body while holding it close. Identity here is neither fixed nor easily consumed. Each form lingers in a timeless threshold of being held, hidden, and in flux. The work reflects a suspended moment of protection and tension, where vulnerability and potential coexist just before emergence.
